Elden Ring went gold, it will take about 30 hours to complete. But this is not the limit
From Software has completed development on the highly anticipated Elden Ring, and the developer has confirmed that the "major" version has been submitted for approval. However, the work is not yet complete as the developers are now working on a day one patch that will include updates and optimizations.
The fact that Elden Ring will be released on time was confirmed during the Taipei Game Show, where From Software also discussed the length of Elden Ring. Producer Yasuhiro Kitao said that game times will vary depending on a number of factors, but the main route should take players about 30 hours to complete.
“This will vary significantly depending on the player, but in terms of goals set during development, the idea is that the main route can be completed in about 30 hours,” Kitao said. "The game as a whole is quite voluminous and contains many more tens of hours of gameplay."
As for the Day 1 patch, From Software hasn't given details on what's included other than updates and optimizations based on beta test feedback.
Elden Ring was originally scheduled to launch in January before being delayed until February 25th. The game will be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Writer George Martin, who wrote the novel Game of Thrones, wrote the backstory and mythology of Elden Ring.
