Xiaomi suddenly released a new version of MIUI for a flagship smartphone that was announced in the second half of 2018.

What is known

We are talking about Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro on Snapdragon 845. This is one of the first Android smartphones in the world with a fingerprint scanner built into the display and one of the few models with support for 3D face recognition technology.

The smartphone still runs on MIUI 12 on the global market, although MIUI 12.5 firmware has long been released in China. Last year, the model received the v12.0.2.0 QECMIXM update. Software v12.0.2.0 QECMIXM is now available for it. The changelog is modest. It only indicates the optimization of the smartphone.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro entered the market pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo and MIUI 9 shell. Thus, the global version of the flagship received two updates to the Android operating system and three versions of proprietary firmware. By the way, in China, MIUI 12.5 is also built on Android 10.
