A fan-made remaster of Resident Evil 4 has been in development for eight years. An unofficial RE4 HD project created by Chris Morales and Albert Marin - two guys who are madly in love with Resident Evil 4. The game will have significantly improved graphics and textures.

As stated in the FAQ section of the project's website, the effort to modernize the graphics of RE4 has been a true dedication. According to the creators, they scaled each texture up to 8-16 times its original resolution and redrawn/reworked them.

Japanese game developer CapCom knows about the remaster and wholeheartedly supports its creation. In response to questions about why the HD project is being created at all, developers Albert and Chris stated: “It is definitely NOT because we have a lot of free time. Rather, it's because we love Resident Evil 4 so much and feel like we should get the best visual experience out of the game."

The RE4 HD project will be free to download on February 2nd. It is compatible with the 2014 RE4 Ultimate HD Edition, which is available on Steam for everyone to enjoy.

Resident Evil 4 was originally released in 2005 and is one of the most popular games in the franchise. The game revived the Resident Evil series, and over 120 million copies of the game series have been sold since then, about which we recently wrote.
