watchOS 8.4 update for Apple Watch Series 3 and later fixes charging issue
Earlier this week, Apple released updates to iOS 15.3 and watchOS 8.4 that focus on security and bug fixes. For instance, iOS 15.3 fixes a bug that allowed websites view database names of other domains. In turn, watchOS 8.4 solves the problem due to which some Apple Watch models did not charge.
How to upgrade?
The update is available for smart watch Watch Series 3 and newer models. You can download the update through the Apple Watch app on your iPhone by going to General > Software Update.
But note that the Apple Watch battery must be at least 50% charged in order to install the update, and it must be placed on a charger and within range of a connected iPhone. If your watch is already empty and does not recognize chargers, you cannot do without visiting an Apple Store or an authorized service center.
In addition to watchOS 8.4, Apple also released the first beta version watchOS 8.5.
