Enthusiast Gernot Jobstl created the second iPhone X to feature a USB-C port instead of the proprietary Lightning connector. He managed to sell it at auction for relatively modest money.

Last year Swiss enthusiast Ken Pilonnel modified iPhone X, replacing Lightning with USB-C. He put the smartphone up for sale, and already on the first day, the price at the auction reached $4 100. Price after two days exceeded $100,000, but in the end the device was purchased for $86,001.

As it turned out, the world needed only one such apparatus. The second iPhone X with USB-C sold for only $3,000, although unlike the first model, it boasts water-resistance that was restored by an enthusiast. Note that only one buyer participated in the auction.
