MLB The Show 22 was announced by Los Angeles Angels player Shohei Otani on the cover of the game, which will be released for the first time on Nintendo Switch and for the second year in a row on Xbox.

After MLB The Show is no longer a PlayStation-exclusive franchise as of 2021, the baseball sim will be available for the first time on Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

MLB The Show 22 releases April 5th. On Xbox, the game will be available with a Game Pass subscription at launch, just like last year. The game supports cross-platform play and progress, and this also applies to Switch.

The standard version of the game for PS4, Xbox One and Switch is $60, while the standard version for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is $70. The Game Pass version of MLB The Show 22 includes the Xbox One and Series X|S versions. It was also announced that there will be premium/collector versions of the game and they will be announced on February 2nd.

Not much is known about the game itself yet, but Sony says fans can expect more information to come as part of the "Feature Premieres" video series.
