Hackers stole 120,000 Ethereum coins. At the time of the hack, they were valued at about $322 million. After the authors of the Wormhole project confirmed the theft, the total value of the assets fell to $294 million. Even so, we are talking about the second largest crypto platform hack in history.

The “leading” platform is Poly Network, which was hacked at the end of last summer. The damage amounted to $610 million. In third place (so far officially in second) is the Vulcan Forged project, from whose accounts $140 million was withdrawn by hackers in December last year.

The Wormhole developers state that the Ethereum cryptocurrency supply will be replenished to provide wETH 1:1 support. In addition, the company put the site into maintenance mode while investigating the incident and contacted the hackers. She offers them to return the stolen funds, leaving $ 10 million as a reward for the vulnerability found.
