One of the cheapest Redmi smartphones received a stable MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, but based on Android 11
Xiaomi introduced the ultra-budget smartphone Redmi 9A a year and a half ago. However, despite the low price tag and the release date, the company continues to support the product.
Update
The device originally shipped with MIUI 12 based on Android 10 and has been receiving quarterly security updates ever since. But now the manufacturer has begun rolling out the stable version of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, albeit based on the not-new Android 11.
The changelog states that the update delivers high performance and improved battery life. In addition, the January security patch has been added.
The total update size is 1.9 GB. Considering that the smartphone has a modest amount of memory - only 2/32 GB - it is better to check the availability of free space before downloading.
