Xiaomi has announced the start of production of its smartphones in Argentina.

Sales of the first three Redmi models have already begun in the Argentinean market.

Xiaomi is also partnering with Etercor, a distribution partner of the Chinese brand. According to company representatives, Xiaomi has great potential in the region.

“We have been working together for several years to make the brand known to Argentinean consumers. And at the same time to convince the brand of the relevance of the Argentinean market in Latin America and the huge opportunities they have here. Like all good work done with patience and thoroughness, now both realities converge,” said Juan Pablo Baiardi, Etercor spokesman.

Smartphones will be produced at the plant of the Etercor group in Tierra del Fuego, a southern Argentinean province. Therefore, they will be labeled "Made in Tierra del Fuego" ("Made in Tierra del Fuego").
