Apple buys start-up AI Music, which creates music to the listener's heartbeat
Bloomberg, citing its own sources, reports that Apple bought the startup AI Music, which was created in 2016 and now has more than two dozen employees.
What for?
Infinite Music Engine technology, which is developed by AI Music, allows you to create soundtracks using AI. This is music that changes depending on the interaction with the user in real time. For example, Infinite Music Engine adapts playback to the listener's heartbeat - for example, more dynamic fast tracks are played during a workout in the gym, calm, quiet and melodious music is played while working or relaxing.
“With our Infinite Music Engine and other proprietary technologies, we provide customized solutions for marketers, publishers, fitness professionals, creative agencies and more. Music that adjusts to your heartbeat, audio ads tailored to the context of the listener, universal licenses across multiple formats… All of this and more is possible through our cutting-edge research and scalable in-house development,” AI Music says on its website.
Apple declined to comment on the information about the purchase, so the amount of the transaction is unknown, as well as plans to integrate technologies into products. In theory, AI Music developments can be integrated into both Apple Music and Fitness+. For example, a company can use them to create unique soundtracks for Apple Fitness+ subscribers, or even create real-time ambient sounds with HomePod.
