GTA 5 sold 160 million copies, RDR 2 sold 43 million
Take-Two has announced new sales data for Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption II, revenues are not going to stop.
As part of its latest earnings report, Take-Two announced that it has sold 160 million copies since its launch in 2013. gta v. Meanwhile, the entire franchise has surpassed 370 million copies sold.
Take-Two boasted that GTA V retail sales hit $1 billion faster than any entertainment product in gaming or any other industry in history. It is also the best-selling game of the past decade in the US, both in terms of sales and revenue. And given that Rockstar is preparing improved version of GTA V for next generation consoles, profits will rise even more.
Take-Two also announced that Rockstar's other major game, Red Dead Redemption II, has already sold 43 million copies. The entire series has sold 65 million copies, meaning that the original Red Dead Redemption has sold around 22 million copies. RDR2 is the second best-selling game in the US over the past three years by revenue.
