ESRB Forspoken Rating Confirms Microtransactions on Launch Day
Square Enix's ESRB rating for Forspoken confirms the game will launch with microtransactions. Forspoken was first talked about in June 2020 during the presentation of the Sony PS5. Luminous Productions, the team responsible for the development of Final Fantasy XV, is leading production on the new role-playing game, which will arrive this spring on May 25th.
Forspoken is about a girl from New York named Frey who is magically transported to the fantasy world of Atia. The story will revolve around Frey's attempt to return to his home in New York. However, she must also master her newfound magical powers if she has any hope of surviving the long and treacherous journey that lies ahead of her. Recent previews of Forspoken gameplay show that players will have a range of combat and movement abilities at their disposal, the vast majority of which should make traveling through Athia quite an exciting experience.
As noted MP1st, Square Enix's ESRB Forspoken rating is officially available to the public. Most interesting is the ESRB's mention of Forspoken's in-app purchases on PC and PS5. This suggests that Square Enix's next major project will indeed feature microtransactions on day one.
Forspoken is an action role-playing game that comes with in the 10 most anticipated games on PlayStation this year. Scheduled for release on May 25 for PC and PlayStation 5
