5 years of updates not only for flagships: Samsung Galaxy A series of smartphones can also receive extended support
We recently wrote that the company Samsung has expanded support its flagship smartphones, tablets and smart watch - now they will receive 4 major updates of the Android operating system and security patches for 5 years. This information was published in press release on the official Samsung website in the United States. But the website of the company in the Netherlands has slightly different data.
Galaxy A series too?
Initially, it was reported that models of the Galaxy S series and Galaxy Tab S 2021, 2022 and beyond will receive extended support. However, in the Dutch version press release The Samsung Galaxy A series has also been added to the list.
True, we are not talking about specific models - it is only noted that the new update policy will also apply to "selected devices in the upcoming A series."
Since the Galaxy A family includes both budget and mid-range smartphones, it can be assumed that on 5 year old only near-top models can count on support.
But it is possible that this mention in press release in the Netherlands it's just a mistake.
