In an interview with GamerBraves, Elden Ring producer Yasuhiro Kitao talked about everything he learned from the Elden Ring online test. One of the biggest changes FromSoftware made was the HUD, which the test showed was too simple and basic to convey the right information to the players.

One of the key changes shows that FromSoftware doesn't want the player to die all the time. As part of a multiplayer test, Kitao realized that they needed to rebalance Margit the Dread Omen, the big boss from the beta. It was too difficult for players to beat, especially considering that he was one of the first bosses that gamers would face. "We didn't want to make the bosses too difficult," Kitao told GamerBraves, which is why it was rebalanced.

Elden Ring presented the developers with several new challenges, which the creator said found that making an open world game was the hardest part of development. Keeping players from getting bored was really difficult, so the developers struggled to find a good balance for the game.

Elden Ring releases February 25, 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
