Xiaomi has declared a "life-and-death war" against Apple
Xiaomi once again announced its serious intention to become the leader of the smartphone market over the next few years.
Apple beware
Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun said on the Chinese social network Weibo that the company will focus on the high-end segment of the global smartphone market to compete directly with Apple in an attempt to fill the void left by Huawei.
“We aim to fully match Apple in terms of product and experience and become the largest high-end brand in China in the next three years,” Jun said.
He also described the competition with Apple in the high-end smartphone segment as a "life-and-death war" and Xiaomi intends to win it.
Thus, the immediate goal of the Chinese manufacturer is to lead the Chinese smartphone market, and then move on to the global one.
By the way, in the fourth quarter of 2021, Apple overtook Vivo to become the leading smartphone brand in China for the first time in six years. At the same time, Apple became the world's leading smartphone supplier, with one in five smartphones sold being an iPhone.
