The difference is negligible: 45-watt charging does not charge the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra much faster than 25 watts
New flagships Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra boast support 45 watt fast charging, which was a big improvement over the 25W of its predecessors. However, is the charging time of these devices so dramatically different?
Tested and proven
Samsung claims that the 45W charging on the S22+ and S22 Ultra can charge their batteries up to 50% in less than 20 minutes. Sammobile journalists tested both new items and checked it out.
As it turned out, the difference between the 25W and 45W memory is negligible. For example, the S22 Ultra charges up to 45% with a 45W charger and up to 39% with a 25W charger in 20 minutes. Approximately the same difference when charging up to 100%: 45 watt charging did it just 4 minutes faster than 25 watt.
Recall that the charger is not included in the package of new flagships, but 45 watt adapter costs $50. Therefore, if you have an old charger left, it is better not to spend money on a new one. Although this is, of course, the decision of everyone.
