Cyberpunk 2077 will stop working on Windows 7 and Nvidia 700 series graphics cards
After the recent 1.5 patch for Cyberpunk 2077, which adds a lot of innovations and a version for next-gen consoles, something else has appeared. The game will soon stop working on older video cards and on Windows 7.
Nvidia 700 series graphics cards, which were previously part of the minimum system requirements, are no longer supported. “Due to the end of graphics driver support, we have decided to change the minimum system requirements for Nvidia graphics cards to the GTX 970,” reads the patch notes for patch 1.5. "The game will not necessarily stop working on the specified graphics cards, however we are no longer testing the game on Nvidia 700 series graphics cards."
Windows 7 support for Cyberpunk 2077 has also ended. “Due to technical limitations of the DirectX 12 implementation in Windows 7, as well as the end or limitation of graphics driver support. Cyberpunk will not support Windows 7 after June 15, 2022,” CD Projekt said in a statement. "When updating with patches published after this time, the game may stop working on this operating system."
Here's what the minimum requirements for the game look like now:
- OS: Windows 10
- CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310
- RAM: 8 GB RAM
- Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon RX 470
- DirectX: 12
- Disk space: 70 GB
