Horizon Forbidden West has been pushed back to 2022 to avoid rework at the studio
According to Matijs de Jonge, director of Guerrilla Games, the launch of Horizon Forbidden West has been delayed to prevent rework.
In conversation with a Dutch online newspaper N.U. director Horizon Forbidden West commented on the game's 2022 delay, which was announced last summer. According to Matijs de Jonge, the studio's work culture does not tolerate overtime at the expense of employees' personal lives.
“This happens to us very rarely. We are aware of the disadvantages of crunch, so we take this into account when planning. Of course, those who are willing to continue working during the holidays are allowed, but there is always a very clear position of the company, you are not obliged,” said de Jonge.
“Forbidden West could have come out at the end of last year, but then we might have had to work overtime. People should be able to relax and take vacations and be with family and friends.”
Horizon Forbidden West is out now on PS4 and PS5
