Xiaomi 12 Ultra still exists: information about the smartphone was found in the IMEI database

There were rumors on the net that this year it was not worth waiting for the top flagship Xiaomi 12 Ultra, and instead the Xiaomi MIX 5 line would be released. However, this does not seem to be the case.

What to expect?

Finally the first official leaks of information about Xiaomi 12 Ultra have appeared. So, a smartphone with the L2S number (2206122SC) appeared in the IMEI database. Back in 2020, the model number J1 (M2001J1C) belonged to the Mi 10 Pro. The model number J1S (M2007J1SC), which came out 6 months after the Mi 10 Pro, belonged to the Mi 10 Ultra. For this reason, the market name of the device with model number L2S is expected to be Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

But it is possible that Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be more similar to the Xiaomi MIX 5 line. It is credited with the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor and a multi-module main camera with a periscope telephoto lens, which neither the standard edition nor the Pro version can boast of.

By the way, the model number ends with 2206, which corresponds to June 2022. Usually Xiaomi smartphones are presented on a month or two later, so the official presentation of Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected in July or August.
