Alexander Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, said that a digital hryvnia could appear in Ukraine within a year.

Now the National Bank is conducting pilot projects using digital currency. Their results will be known in a few months. The projects are implemented on the Ethereum, Stellar and Near blockchains.

According to Bornyakov, the Ukrainian digital currency may appear as early as the end of this year or early next. The key difference from traditional cryptocurrencies is the complete control of the authorities.

In addition to Ukraine, France, Switzerland and Jamaica are planning to introduce their own digital currency. European countries have already conducted successful tests. The leader here is China, which has completed the creation of the digital yuan and is moving on to its implementation.
