When Square Enix released Octopath Traveler, it coined a new term, HD-2D. This is when characters in the form of two-dimensional pixel sprites are used in the three-dimensional world. Obviously, the company liked to release games in this style, so it wants to make more HD-2D remakes of the classic from the SNES console.

This was announced by the developers of another game with the style of HD-2D Triangle Strategy. They report that Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda has asked the team to create more HD-2D-style games. The developers have concluded that this style is very suitable for remakes of classic games.

"We chose a few games, thought about which ones were best for HD-2D and showed them to the president. The list included games that Square and Enix released on Super Famicom. -2D translates to Live A Live. In second place was ActRaiser. " - Square Enix producer Tomoya Asano
