Honor held a virtual launch today, announcing two new phones, part of the Play series – a vanilla Play 6T and a slightly more powerful Play 6T Pro. Both have 5G-enabled Dimensity chipsets and attractive prices, but there’s a big chance these devices remain bound to the domestic market.

The Honor Play 6T comes with a 6. 7″ LCD with a waterdrop notch on top for the 5MP camera. It is powered by a Dimensity 700 chipset and will sell with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The back has a new design that we haven’t seen on Honor’s phones yet and a 13MP main sensor. There are also a couple of 2MP auxilary cameras and an LED flash.

The phone comes with Magic UI 5.0, based on Android 11. There is a 5,000 mAh battery inside the Play 6T, which does not have a fancy fast-charging standard.

The phone will be sold in Black, Blue, and Silver colors for CNY1,199, which is about $190. There is also a 256 GB option that costs CNY1,399 or almost $220.

The Honor Play 6T Pro has another 6. 7″ LCD at the front, but this one has a punch hole for an 8MP camera and a 1080p resolution. It is powered by a Dimensity 810 chip and 8GB RAM.

The two shooters on the back have 48MP and 2MP resolutions. The design does look familiar though – it reminds us of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13.

The Honor Play 6T Pro also comes with Magic UI 5.0, based on Android 11. The battery has a 4,000 mAh charge and comes with 40W fast charging.

Honor is selling the phone in Silver, Black, and Pink with 128 GB storage for CNY1,399 ($220), but you can also double and push that to CNY1,599 ($250).
