Amazfit unveils new, cheaper version of the GTS 2 Mini with the same features

Over a year ago the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini launched in India at Rs7,000 and proved to be one of the more popular smartwatches from the company. Now it has come out with a new version, which knocks the price down to Rs6,000, which will go on sale on the official store and Amazon.in on April 11 (Monday). Note that there will be a special launch discount of Rs1,000 only on the 11th.

The company simply calls the watch “Amazfit GTS 2 Mini (new version)”, although a side by side comparison showed no actual changes (other than the price, of course).

The watch has a 1. 55″ AMOLED display (306 x 354 px, 301 ppi, 450 nits) with over 80 watch faces (nearly 50 of which were professionally designed). The Always On function offers over 60 designs.

The build of the new GTS 2 Mini is the same – an aluminum alloy body with a plastic back plus skin-friendly silicone straps. The watch weighs 19. 5g without the straps. The body is waterproof up to 5 ATM, so you can take it swimming.

The 220 mAh battery promises around 14 days of regular usage, 7 days for heavy users. A basic mode is available that disables most features and can keep running for 21 days. When the battery is depleted, a full charge takes around 2 hours.

The watch offers 68+ exercise modes and features a BioTracker 2 PPG optical heart rate sensor, which also measures blood-oxygen saturation (SpO2). Other sensors include an accelerometer, gyro and ambient light sensor.

The GTS 2 Mini (new version) has a built-in GPS tracking, so it can accurately track outdoor activities (running, cycling, etc.) without being connected to a smartphone. The microphone allows you to speak to Amazon Alexa via the onboard mic. You can ask questions, set timers and add items to your shopping list.

The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini (new version) will be available in three colorways: Breeze Blue, Flamingo Pink and Meteor Black. The watch will become available on April 11 at a special Rs5,000 launch day price, going up to Rs6,000 after that.
