Weekly poll results: Oppo F21 Pro pair fails to impress

Given the state of the world economy, people can be price sensitive. Which is bad news for Oppo’s new F21 Pro duo, whose hardware doesn’t quite justify their Rs20,000+ price tags.

The results from last week’s poll show that there may be some hope for the Oppo F21 Pro 5G. It found a small group of supporters, even at its current price. And if it gets a price drop, even more people could warm up to it.

As it stands, Rs27,000 can buy you a better screen, better chipset, better camera and better battery. Okay, maybe not all at once, but you can have several upgrades at that price. Or, alternatively, you can pay less for similar hardware.

The Oppo F21 Pro and F21 Pro 5G can use a price cut

The Indian market is highly competitive and the Oppo F21 Pro 5G could have used a stand-out feature to draw more people to its side. It gets the basics right – 3. 5 mm jack, microSD slot, some water resistance.

However, the competition offers high refresh rate displays and faster chipsets. There could be a lot more done for the cameras, such as. 4K video recording (or at least 1080p @ 60 fps) or OIS or an ultra wide module.

Meanwhile, the Oppo F21 Pro received little love. It has some advantages over the 5G model (e.g. a 90 Hz AMOLED panel), but even so it is too close to it in terms of pricing. People just aren’t fans of the Snapdragon 680, at least not when the price tag reads Rs23,000.

There isn’t much more to say about it, other than there are cheaper phones with similar hardware already on the market in India and the looming launch of the country’s first 5G network.
