Demand exceeded expectations: Apple increases production of iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max smartphones
The Elec reports that in the second quarter of 2022, Apple will increase the production of older models of the iPhone 13 line - iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Why?
Even though the second quarter is usually an off-season, iPhone 13 sales remain strong, and demand for Pro models has outperformed the company's forecasts and expectations.
So, it was originally planned to collect 1 million iPhone 13 Pro and 3.5 million iPhone 13 Pro Max. Now, the order volume for smartphones has increased by 10 million: in total, Apple ordered 8 million iPhone 13 Pro and 6.5 million iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Incidentally, investment bank Morgan Stanley estimated in a recent investment note that "iPhone 13 demand beat expectations in the first quarter," adding that "worldwide shipments of the iPhone 13 series are up 10%." Another investment bank, JP Morgan, said: “Despite various supply and demand issues, all four iPhone 13 series are in stock with carriers in the US, but Pro and Pro Max are in short supply compared to other models.”
