Xiaomi wants to rename Redmi Note 12 smartphones

Since last year, the Xiaomi Redmi sub-brand has started releasing two generations of Note series smartphones, which has led to serious confusion for buyers. Now the manufacturer intends to solve this problem.

New name

According to the plan, one generation a year is focused on extreme performance, while another is focused on an all-round experience. For example, the Note 11 Pro has become an all-in-one device after the debut of the performance-focused Redmi Note 10 Pro. But therein lies the problem, as buyers opting for the Note 11 Pro 5G (pictured) were expecting a direct performance-focused successor to the Note 10 Pro.

To eliminate confusion, Xiaomi decided to rename the upcoming Redmi Note 12 line so that its new name focuses on the performance of the models. Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing turned to users for help, inviting them to come up with a new name for the smartphone line.
