Huawei today officially unveiled its new foldable smartphone, the Mate Xs 2, which is the direct successor to the 2020 Mate Xs.

What's new?

Unlike most foldable smartphones, the Huawei Mate Xs 2's display doesn't fold inward, but outward, so there's only one screen - a 7.8-inch flexible OLED with a resolution of 2480x2200 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. When folded, it's a more compact 6.5-inch display.

The smartphone is equipped with an improved hinge mechanism, and the manufacturer claims that there are no visible wrinkles on the panel. The folds are also not visible on the images, but it's better to wait for the reviews. Huawei also appreciates the increased durability of the resin coated display thanks to the new four-layer structure. The case uses innovative materials such as aircraft-grade titanium alloy, ultra-light fiberglass, and ultra-light and ultra-strong steel. As a result, the gadget weighs 255 g, while the weight of its predecessor was 300 g.
For more convenient work with the device, you can use the Huawei M-Pen 2s stylus.

In terms of cameras, you get a 10MP selfie camera tucked away in the top right corner and a triple main one. It includes a 50 MP sensor, a 13 MP wide lens and an 8 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical and 30x digital zoom.

Responsible for performance is the Snapdragon 888 4G processor with 8/12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal memory. Also inside is a 4880mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging.
