Kuo: Apple Watch Series 8 smartwatch may get a body temperature measurement function (but this is not certain)
Earlier there were rumors that the Apple Watch Series 7 will be able to measure the body temperature of its owner. However, this did not happen. This feature is now expected in the upcoming Apple Watch Series 8.
What to expect?
According to authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple did plan to add the feature to the Apple Watch Series 7, but the company shelved the plans because the algorithm it developed didn't meet the requirements. The problems that Apple has faced are supposedly related to the fact that skin temperature changes rapidly depending on the environment, and since smartwatches cannot control core body temperature with hardware, this feature relies heavily on an algorithm that gives accurate results. .
Kuo believes that body temperature monitoring could be included in the upcoming Apple Watch Series 8, but on the condition that "the algorithm can meet Apple's high requirements before mass production."
