One of the producers of "Black Adam" explains why the expected film with Dwayne Johnson was postponed to October 21, 2022.
What else is known
- Black Adam was originally scheduled for release in December 2021, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Then it was postponed to July 29, 2022, but Warner Bros. again had to postpone the release of the film to October 21, 2022.
- In a new interview with The Wrap, Hiram Garcia, president of Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions and one of the producers of Black Adam, spoke about the main reason why Warner Bros. had to postpone the film for a few more months.
- Garcia actively said that VFX is a major aspect of why they had to get extra time to finish post-production.
- "Obviously, all these superhero movies just require so much VFX, and we're just in a situation where most VFX studios are just overcrowded. They are constantly working and we are very grateful to VFX studios. It feels like things are starting to get better, and I think there will be less and less movies. "
- Black Adam was just one of four DCEU films to be postponed. Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom also changed the release date.
Black Adam will be an important leader for DCEU, primarily because he represents the cult enemy of Shazam. In 2017, Warner Bros. decided to portray Black Adam in their own film, which will also show his history of origins before fighting Shazam Zahari Livaya.
