Google reveals when it will release the latest update for Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL

Google recently started rolling out the May update for the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. As it turned out, this is not the latest firmware for devices.

What is known

According to a company representative, Google plans to release the final build of the system for smartphones by July. After that, devices will no longer receive new features and monthly security patches.

“At the launch of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, we announced that devices will receive three years of software updates and three years of security updates since our devices first became available on the Google Store. The final update for Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL will be available to users by July 2022,” the company said.

Recall that the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL debuted in May 2019 with Android 9.0 Pie on board. Now the devices are running the Android 12 operating system. Smartphones have AMOLED displays with different diagonals, a Snapdragon 670 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64/128 GB of ROM, a 12 MP main camera and 3000 mAh and 3700 mAh batteries respectively.
