Netease has opened its first studio in the United States - it will make online games for PCs and consoles

Chinese giant NetEase Games has announced the establishment of a new studio - Jackalope Games. It is based in Austin, Texas - the first NetEase division in the United States. 

Jackalope Games will be led by industry veteran Jack Emmert, who has joined the City of Heroes, Neverwinter, Star Trek online and DC Universe Online. The team will develop games for PC consoles. Both Emmert's track record and his statement in the press release unequivocally hint that the studio is going to work in the IMO genre:

"NetEase Games is the best place for me and my team to thrive. We share a common desire to create new online universes for players around the world. NetEase Games supports us and provides the resources to build a great studio to create great games. "

Despite the fact that Jackalope Games is a "daughter" of NetEase, the team will get complete freedom of action and release of games. The production of the debut project will be fully funded by NetEase.
