Sharp AQUOS R7: 240Hz OLED display, 5000mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and 1-inch 47.2MP camera sensor

Sharp has announced its new flagship smartphone AQUOS R7 in Japan.

What is known

The device was equipped 6.6-inch IGZO OLED display. The panel received a resolution of 2730 × 1260 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 240 Hz, a maximum brightness of 2000 nits, as well as support for 10-bit colors and Dolby Vision. An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner was built into the screen of the novelty. At the top of the panel there is a hole with a 12.6 MP front camera. The main one, in turn, received a 1-inch 47.2 MP sensor with an f / 1.9 aperture LED flash. 

The sensor received support for autofocus with an eight-fold distribution of pixels. According to the company, this doubles the focusing speed. By the way, the new product has another sensor, but the manufacturer does not disclose its specifications.

The AQOUS R7 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The device is powered by a 5000 mAh battery. The smartphone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.2. It also has NFC, a USB-C port, and water resistance and dust. Out of the box, the novelty has the Android 12 operating system and a proprietary shell.

Price and when to expect

Sharp AQUOS R7 will go on sale in July. How much the novelty will cost is still unknown.
