Xiaomi and Leica announce mobile photography partnership

After half a year of various rumors and leaks, Xiaomi and Leica announced a partnership.

Corresponding the press release appeared on the official website of the Chinese manufacturer. The companies will cooperate in the field of mobile photography.

“Xiaomi focuses on creating the ultimate user experience and has always hoped to make the most of photography with a smartphone. Xiaomi and Leica agree with each other's aspirations and ideas, and value each other's advantages and industries. This collaboration will give a strong boost to Xiaomi's image strategy." - said Lei Jun, founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group.

Unfortunately, there are no details about the first joint smartphone yet. It is only known that it will be shown in July. According to rumors, this will be the flagship Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

Remember, since 2019 Leica cooperated with Huawei. The result of this collaboration was excellent camera phones that topped the DxOMark rating. But due to sanctions and the United States and the crisis associated with them, Huawei and Leica ceased to be partners.
