iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max tipped to receive Always-On Display feature
Last year's iPhone 13 Pro models were the first of Apple's smartphones to come with 120Hz ProMotion displays. This year iPhone screens could boast expanded refresh rate variability. Also, Apple's next generation iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max may finally get a cool and useful feature that has been on many Android devices for years. It's about Always On Display.
Current generation Pro models can change the frequency from 10 to 120 Hz. The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max may get screens that can drop down to 1Hz. And this will allow Apple to implement a very energy efficient version of the Always On Display.
Ross Young, founder of research firms Display Supply Chain Consultants and DisplaySearch, expects such a feature to actually arrive on the iPhone. Also, about a year ago, the appearance of this feature was also attributed to the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, but for some reason, Apple decided not to do this. The Always On Display feature is available on Android smartphones for many years and became almost standart for models with OLED screens.
