What is known

At the end of autumn 2021, the distribution network walmart launched a drone package delivery service in southern Arkansas. By the end of this year, she intends to organize delivery in 34 cities in Arizona, Arkansas, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Florida.

The company noted that people living within range of drones will be able to place orders for the delivery of goods weighing up to 4 kg (10 pounds). The service will work every day from 8:00 to 20:00. The operator will be DroneUp, and the shipping cost will be $4. By the way, one of DroneUp's investors is Walmart itself.

After receiving the order, employees walmart complete it and install the box on the drone. Next, the operator sends the drone to the buyer. Upon arrival, the drone drops the box onto the lawn outside the house.

walmart states that several hundred unmanned deliveries have been made since the launch of the service. The expansion will make it possible to carry out over 1 million shipments annually. When it comes to orders, most Americans buy fast food.
