Lithuanians are raising money for the Bayraktar TB2 reconnaissance and strike drone for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Lithuanian TV presenter Andrius Topinas (Andrius Tapinas) launched toround-funding campaign to raise funds for the purchase of an unmanned aerial vehicle for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What is known
Topinas offered to buy the Bayraktar TB2 reconnaissance and strike drone for the Ukrainian military. It costs 5 million euros. In two days, he managed to raise more than 2.5 million euros.
Naturally, it’s impossible for a civilian to buy a military drone just like that, so the Lithuanians turned to the Ministry of Defense, which has already agreed with the Turkish company Baykar Makina.
For those who are not in the know
Bayraktar TB2 is a Turkish strike operational-tactical UAV with an internal combustion engine and a pusher-type propeller. The drone has up to 4 guided munitions. He is able to stay in the air from 12 to 24 hours. The maximum control range is up to 150 km.
