Another batch of 155-mm howitzers M777 from the USA is going to Ukraine
The Pentagon has prepared another batch of towed howitzers for Ukraine M777 caliber 155 mm. They will be transported by the US Air Force.
The US military uses the plane C-17 Globemaster III. The Pentagon said the howitzers are "part of the United States' efforts to provide Ukraine with additional capabilities."
The gun is made of titanium alloy, in connection with which it was possible to reduce its weight to 4.2 tons. M777 is a British designed howitzer but is now manufactured in the United States. It is equipped with a barrel length of 39 calibers. The muzzle velocity of the projectile is 827 m/s. Firing range - almost 25 km using conventional projectiles and 30 km with Extended Range Full Bore (EFRB, high-explosive fragmentation full-barreled projectiles of extended range).
