American company DeLorean Motor Company has announced a new version of the iconic DeLorean from Back to the Future.
What is known
The car was called Alpha5 and futuristic design. The Italdesign studio is responsible for it, which created the look of the original model more than 40 years ago. DeLorean DMC-12. The car retained the gull-wing doors, but now it's not a coupe, but a four-seater fastback. In addition to this, the novelty has become an electric car.
The DeLorean Alpha5 received a drag coefficient of 0.23 (for example, the Tesla Model S has 0.24) and rather large dimensions: length 4995 mm, width 2044 mm and height 1370 mm.
There are not many technical characteristics of the car, but they say that the novelty is created on the EVX platform, which was developed by Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering. The car was equipped with a 100 kWh battery. Thanks to her Alpha5 is able to travel on a single charge up to 482 km on the EPA cycle. The electric car accelerates to “hundreds” in just 3.4 seconds. The maximum speed of the car is 241 km/h.
When to expect
Unfortunately, there is no timeline for the DeLorean Alpha5 to enter the market yet. Only It is known that the car will be produced in Italy. It will be released in limited quantities - only 88 pieces. A full presentation of the car will be held in August.
