T-Mobile service is down for many users across the East Coast
If you are a US T-Mobile customer and are currently experiencing cellular connectivity issues, you are not alone. A number of T-Mobile users have taken to Twitter and other social networks to complain that they cannot send text messages, make calls, and even access data in some cases. T-Mobile has yet to acknowledge the outage.
What happened?
Data compiled by Downdetector shows that complaints about T-Mobile outages began to rise around 12:00 pm ET / 9:00 pm PT. Map data shows that the outage appears to be primarily affecting users on the East Coast, extending towards Chicago. T-Mobile customers complain that they cannot make or receive calls or send or receive text messages. Complaints about data outages are not that common, but some users have indicated that they are having issues with the 5G connection dropping all the time.
Some of the affected users say that they managed to fix the issues by restarting their iPhone. This fix does not work for all users, and in any case, it seems that there is some kind of issue affecting T-Mobile service for many users on the east coast. T-Mobile has not yet commented on this outage and has not responded to any of the user complaints. On Twitter, the T-Mobile support account simply pointed out "things look good on my end" in general replies to users complaining about the crash.
