At today's presentation, along with the new Macbook Air Apple has introduced an updated 13-inch MacBook Pro.

What changed?

Unlike the MacBook Air, the new MacBook Pro retains the same design, including the Touch Bar (despite the rumors). The keyboard and screen have not changed either.

The main changes are inside. Most importantly, the laptop is equipped with the new M2 processor, which has an 8-core processor and 10-core GPU, supports up to 24 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB SSD. This makes working with RAW images in apps like Affinity Photo nearly 40% faster than the previous generation, and up to 3.4x faster for users who upgrade without Apple silicon; playing graphics-intensive games like Baldur's Gate 3 is also up to 40% faster than on the previous 13-inch MacBook Pro.

In addition, with support for ProRes encoding and decoding in the M2 media engine, users can play up to 11 streams of 4K video and up to two streams of ProRes 8K video. And they can convert their video projects to ProRes up to 3 times faster than before.

MacBook Pro is also equipped with a cooling system and boasts an autonomy of up to 20 hours.

"The M2 also fits the 13" MacBook Pro, delivering incredible performance, ProRes acceleration, up to 24GB of memory and up to 20 hours of battery life, making our most portable professional laptop even better," said Greg Joswiak at the presentation. , Apple's senior vice president of global marketing.
