Information has already appeared on the network more than once that Apple plans to add the Always on Display function to iOS. Now this has been confirmed.

What is known

Our colleagues from 9to5Mac "poked around" in the beta version iOS 16  and found several new backlight control frameworks in the home screen manager with direct links to the always-on display feature. There are also similar links in the lock screen code.

Unfortunately, which smartphones will support the new feature is not mentioned in the leak. but if rumors are to be believed, only the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will receive it. Recall that the devices should debut this fall.
