The Armed Forces of Ukraine showed the work of the French CAESAR self-propelled guns and explained in detail how to use them
Artillerymen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine showed and told how self-propelled guns work CAESARwho arrived in Ukraine from France.
What is known
The self-propelled guns are equipped with a digital fire control system, which has become a key feature of the installation and its advantage over competitors. In the story of Radio Liberty, one of the Ukrainian soldiers said that the task of the gunners is only to enter the coordinates. After that, the system automatically calculates all the information needed to attack the target.
Paired with it, the Ukrainian military uses a fire control system of our production, which is called "Kropiva". The story shows how an artilleryman adds data to the installation's fire control system, after which it performs a binding to the terrain and does calculations. In addition to the coordinates, the artilleryman must choose the projectile, charge and where detonator.
Self-propelled artillery mount CAESAR gives the Armed Forces the opportunity to act on the principle of "manoeuvre - shot - maneuver", without staying in one position for a long time. In order to take a position and make a shot, it takes no more than 5 minutes.
The gunners also showed fuses FU RALEC DE F3 with air burst function. The effectiveness of this mode is due to the fact that, in comparison with contact detonation, some of the fragments are not directed to the ground. This, in turn, increases the target area.
