Ukraine will receive TALON robots for demining territories

American company QinetiQ-NA will give Ukraine another batch of sappers robots TALON that will help in the clearance of territories.

QinetiQ-NA - "daughter" of the British defense company QinetiQ. Since 2014, she has been conducting training in the operation and repair of robots in Ukraine. TALON. During this time, the company has trained more than a hundred Ukrainian sappers.

Until February 24, there were more than a dozen remotely controlled devices in Ukraine TALON. In the near future, the defense forces will receive a new batch of ten robots. Corresponding Press release appeared on the company's website.

Basic modification TALON has a length of 86.4 cm and a height of 42.7 cm. The weight of the device can be up to 71 kg. Payload - up to 45 kg. In addition, the robot can drag a load weighing up to 680 kg. The power plant provides a maximum speed of 8.3 km / h. Without recharging, the robot works for about 3-4.5 hours, depending on the terrain and the task being performed, and in standby mode, autonomy reaches 7 days.

TALON used by sappers to reduce the threat level when working with explosives. To do this, it is equipped with a manipulator that is capable of lifting loads weighing up to 11 kg. The robot is able to identify and neutralize explosives, conduct reconnaissance of the area and find anti-personnel mines. A specialist can control the device at a distance of 300 m (via cable) to 800 m (via radio link).
