Another Xiaomi 12 Ultra specs leak with new information
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which is set to release in July, will be a flagship showcase of what Xiaomi and Leica can accomplish together. However, the phone is anticipated to arrive in July, only a few months after the agreement was announced - how much can we expect from the camera? According on reports, the 12 Ultra will employ mostly similar camera hardware as the Mi 11 Ultra's main camera (with OIS, perhaps with a new sensor). This means a 50MP main lens (with OIS), 48MP 5x telephoto module , and a 48MP ultra wide lens. The alleged specs for the new Ultra were confirmed by leakster Yogesh Brar.
There will be an extra module, a 3D ToF sensor. The selfie camera should continue to be the same 20MP module as last year's Ultra. Instead of using the Mi 11 Ultra, it appears that Xiaomi took the display panel from the Xiaomi 12 Pro - a 6.7" LTPO AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate (the previous Ultra had a 6.81” non-LTPO display).
According to the leaker, Xiaomi 12 Ultra will get the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and have 8/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256/512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. MIUI 13 will be pre-installed (based on Android 12). Finally, a 4,800mAh battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless fast charging is expected. This year's Pro model has a 120W connected charging rate, whereas some reports claimed that the Ultra would as well, but there is conflicting information.
There are a few omissions in these rumored specs. Will the Xiaomi 12 Ultra have a secondary display on the back, for example? That's uncertain, but we're hearing it will feature a leather texture on the back and an icon red Leica logo. Although that may be a limited edition, speculative renderings appear to show a glossy finish. There is no indication of a rear screen either.
