Mayflower is the 15th solar-powered vessel. The ship can move at speeds up to 20 km/h. Six cameras and 50 sensors are installed on board, which allow obtaining water samples, data on temperature, sounds, salinity, etc.

The role of the navigator was tried on by artificial intelligence IBM. The company said that the purpose of creating an unmanned Mayflower is a demonstration of the progress of technology over the past 400 years.

Recall that the original ship Mayflower crossed the Atlantic in 1620. It took him two months to travel from Plymouth to Massachusetts, and on board was a crew of 30 people. The unmanned ship was supposed to complete its journey in three weeks.
