MediaTek unveils flagship Dimensity 9000+ chip to compete with Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1

MediaTek has quietly announced its new flagship Dimensity 9000+ processor.

What is known

The novelty is an improved version of the conventional SoC Dimensity 9000. The chip is built on TSMC's 4nm process and boasts increased CPU and GPU clock speeds. According to the company, due to this, their productivity increased by 5% and 10%, respectively. The chip was equipped with one Cortex-X2 core at 3.2 GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores at 2.85 GHz, and four Cortex-A510 cores at 1.8 GHz. The Mali-G710 MC10 accelerator is responsible for the graphics in the new product. It supports FHD+ displays at 180Hz or QHD+ at 144Hz. Naturally, the Dimensity 9000+ received a 5G modem, as well as LPDDR5X and UFS 3.1 memory. The SoC supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, dual frequency GPS, NFC, and USB 3.1 Type-C.

When to expect

The first devices based on the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chip will appear later this year.
