Internet Explorer dead. Today, almost 27 years later, Microsoft is shutting down IE. An outdated web browser is terminated Microsoft Edge, and today support IE 11 officially terminated.

Not much change for consumers. Using Internet Explorer has fallen sharply in recent years, and StatCounter shows that IE occupies less than half a percent of the total browser market share. Microsoft has been trying for years to ban people from using it Internet Explorer, and the company used to call it a "compatibility solution" rather than a browser that businesses should use.

Within a month Microsoft will start releasing a new tooltip that will redirect those who are still using Internet Explorer, on Microsoft Edge. Subsequently Internet Explorer will be permanently disabled as part of a future update Windows

Though Microsoft moved to its new browser based Chromium Edge as default browser in Windows 11, mechanism MSHTMLwhich supports Internet Explorer, is still a part Windows 11. It exists exclusively for the regime IE in Microsoft Edge, and Microsoft says he will support the regime IE in Edge at least until 2029.

Some companies will still be caught unawares Internet Explorer, or will not be able to completely stop using it in time. This week Nikkei reported that some government agencies are slow to respond to IE's retirement. For example, a website Japan Pension Service still need to be viewed in mode Internet Explorer Edge.

To the same users Windows 11 no need to worry about Internet Explorerbecause it does not come with an available version IE. This is the first time in 20 years that Microsoft has not combined IE with the new version Windows.
