Kotaku: Hundreds of people fired from Unity

According to Kotaku, the company Unity, which is responsible for the game engine of the same name, is cutting back - 300-400 people have already lost their jobs. 

The layoffs affected offices around the world. It got to almost all divisions, but most of all - to engineers and the AI ​​team.

Employees were informed of the layoffs in an unexpected video call with management. The dismissed will be paid a month's salary and medical allowance in advance, and will also be allowed to recall to other vacancies in Unity. But what is the problem: now hiring in all departments is stopped. 

They say recently Unity suffered from rapid staff turnover, inept management and regular changes in the company's strategy. 

A few weeks ago there was a meeting with three thousand full-time employees Unity. There, CEO John Richitello assured that the company had no financial problems and that no one would be laid off. 

As of June 2020 in Unity employed 3,000 people, according to an announcement on IPO Securities and Exchange Commission. But on the company's pages in LinkedIn and Glassdoor another quantity is indicated - 5,000.
