DJI Mavic 3 and VOG - a serviceman told and showed how they destroy Russian occupants from the air using consumer quadcopters
A Ukrainian serviceman with a call sign "Shustriy" told how the Ukrainian Armed Forces use consumer quadcopters to destroy the Russian occupants.
What is known
The military uses quadcopters DJI Mavic 3, as it is the last consumer drone of the Chinese company, which hit the Ukrainian market. It now costs about $3,000, but volunteers are buying UAVs en masse in other countries at lower prices. For example, in neighboring Poland it costs $1000 cheaper than.
Most often DJI Mavic 3 is used for aerial reconnaissance, because it is equipped with good cameras with zoom and can fly several kilometers from the operator. The flight time is 46 minutes in windless weather. However Mavic 3 managed to turn it into a shock drone.
To do this, a system was developed that allows the drone to drop VOG on the heads of occupants. The mechanism is developed individually for each drone. If you want, you can buy a device for dropping cargo, but in Ukraine this is done by volunteers. They print all the parts on a 3D-printer.
In the video a serviceman shows a VOG-17. The ammunition has two levels of safeties, but it is attached to the drone already in combat condition. If you have seen the drone dropping the VOG, you will have noticed the shank attached to the ammunition. It is responsible for stabilization so that the EGM flies straight down and does not rotate or go sideways.
The load release mechanism is triggered when the flashlight is turned on. The DJI Mavic 3 can carry two VOG-17s at once, unlike DJI Mavic 2, and the system allows you to drop ammunition one at a time or simultaneously. The military uses two drones to attack the enemy. The first one flies for reconnaissance and then the second quadcopter drops the VOG-17 from a height of about 60 m.
