A fresh patch has added VRR and 120 fps support to Horizon Forbidden West on PS5

Horizon Forbidden West became even better thanks to to the new patchGuerrilla Games specialists introduced support for several display modes on the PlayStation 5 in it, and also made a mistake.

Below are the main changes from patch 1.17:

New features (PS5)

  • Variable refresh rate (VRR) and high refresh rate (HFR).
  • Balanced mode - 40 fps on supported screens.

Quests and activities

  • A few fixes in the Wings of Ten story mission:
    • At a certain point in the task, the light wings could appear in the right place - fixed.
    • Defeat Regalla objective is being updated again.
  • Caught a bug in the quest "All That Survived" that caused the cutscene with Tilda not to play after the episode with the painting vault.
  • Acquiring a "gear" before starting the Night of Lights case no longer blocks progress.

Machines and weapons

  • Fixed a bug where Deathwing would not exit stealth after being knocked down.
  • The hearts of the higher fighters stopped appearing in the valuables section of the inventory.
  • Elemental damage arrows fired from maxed bows once again detonate capacities instead of destroying them.
  • Fixed an issue related to "Iriv's Fall" high-precision arrows and bow: the ammunition did not deal additional damage to enemies in a fragile state.

Other

  • The exclamation mark icon no longer lights up in the menu under Skills when all skills have been learned and unused skill points remain.
  • Desert birds were returned by wings - sometimes the object persistently did not fall out of animal carcasses.
  • Fixed a bug where the "All Machine Types Scanned" achievement would not unlock if the gamer scans the remaining machines already in "New Game +".
  • Fixed a bug that disabled the crouch/glide option when it was reassigned to the R1 button.

Guerrilla is working on more than just polishing the sequel. With Firesprite Games it is working on a new project Horizon Call of the Mountain for the PS VR2 helmet. The team shared a trailer with snippets of gameplay. At the same time HFW got an update with "New Game", an additional level of difficulty and more.
